1. You need to go the embassy/consulate in person.
2. There is no need to submit a passport photo as your photo will be captured live, along with your digital signature and fingerprints when you are called in the processing room.
3. All passports are produced and printed only in Manila. The approximate turn-over time from date of payment to arrival of passport is about 6 weeks (45 days). So, if you're planning on a trip, do consider this seriously.
If you live in the West side of Japan, the closest place to renew your passport is the Osaka Consulate. Good luck.

Application Process
WHAT YOU NEED:
- A working computer with internet access. The computer should have the following softwares installed:
- Web Browser (Internet Explorer ver.6 or higher / Mozilla Firefox ver.3.5 recommended)
- PDF document reader (i.e. Adobe Reader ver.5 or higher, Foxit Reader), to view and print the application form.
- A valid and working email address to receive system-generated messages with file attachments.
- A working printer attached to your computer with A4-size paper to print the application form.
How to Get to the Osaka Consulate of the Philippines
From Keihan Kyobashi Station look for the over pass that goes to Twin 21 building. If you get lost, ask for DAIEI Mall because it’s towards the west of it.
